JEFF'S VOLUNTEERS & DINNER DRIVE/ DREW'S PLAYING FOR JEFF TODAY/ SALEM WINS!

To everyone who has emailed me about helping and 'what can we do'?,
I talked to Tina this morning and she has a lot of family who are taking care of things right now. She is in great hands. I told her that there are so many people who want to 'do something' and she knows how helpless so many of us feel right now. Our chance will come soon. Food for the family after the memorial is being arranged by her family and church. Tina's going to need the rest of us once the dust settles to which she agreed. If anyone has any suggestions other than food, please let me know. BW

Drew has a football game today at 12pm at Earl O'Neal Park. Drew knows if he's on the field today, his dad's going to be right there with him!

Anonymous Comment: Salem dedicated tonight's game to Coach. There was not a dry eye in the stadium as Bob Cole remembered Jeff. Bob choked up and so did we. Salem Won!!! 10 to 7 over Loganville. Those boys played for their Coach Blount and we felt his presence everywhere tonight. At the end of the game the student section chanted "Coach Blount" to honor him over and over. The whole Salem side chanted for him. I know he was watching over his boys tonight. It was a sad, sad day but those boys were not going to let their Coach down. Salem Pride in 09!!! Go Noles!

Haven't seen Jeff in almost 20 years, but it warms my heart to know he lived his life like I knew he would. My memories of Jeff are with a great big smile, wonderful attitude, and a baseball hat. I'm sorry for his passing and my deepest sympathy and prayers for his family.

I'm so sorry Tina for what you are going through. I'm really sorry for knowing who you were Tina. I'm Amy Young (LOtt)I went to school with you and I still remember you and I going to the movies and cruising McDonalds. I remember talking with you at the 20 year class reunion. I can still remember the smiles you put on everyone's face in High School, you were always full of joy and laughter.I can still picture you coming down the hall and givng me high five and saying,"hey girlfriend". And, what a perfect couple you and Jeff are, you both have so much joy. I knew Jeff from RYBA, my son Logan plays 7/8. Even though we were not lucky enough to have Jeff as a coach, he still inspired Logan and I. See, Jeff knew that Logan had a heart defect and he has a pacemaker to make his heart to keep beating. If we saw Jeff around the field, he would always give Logan a high five and he would say "Logan you are a miracle and great ball player". LOgan was on the Giants in the spring and when we played the Mets in the playoffs and of course got stomped. After the game on the field, Jeff shooked Logan's hand and said," great job little man, I'm proud of you." I have been reading his Blog everday since it was started. And now, that I know who Tina is, I have a big smile on my face. Because I know Tina and Jeff are soulmates, they are full of joy. Tina are a great wife and mother, I'm really sorry that I never saw you around the ballpark. I'm here for you and your family. In 2002, I lost my mom to cancer and I know you are running are fumes right now. But please if you need anything call me. I live off of Hwy 212, any time if you need a break, the kids can come over and play with Logan. Maybe, one day in the future we can relive the school days and go to the movies I will even cruise you through Mc Donalds. We Love you. Coach Blount, friday we played our hearts out for you. As the Slaem Marching Band, we wanted to make sure that you could hear us up in heaven. After our performance I cried because you would have been so proud of us. We played through the whole second song and in the stands we all screamed for your football team. The game wasn't the same though. I looked for you in the crowd when we were standing on the field but knew that I wouldn't find you.

Ever night I think of you. It's been a few days since you left us but I know that you left proud. I'll never forget you because forgetting you is like giving up...i just can't do it. I love you Coach Blount. On September 12th, 2008 at 12:08am your prayers were answered...you were no longer in pain. We'll always remember you. We'll always scream our hearts out for you at the games.. We'll always play as loud as we can to make sure that you can hear us. We know that you're smiling down on us.

I love you Coach Jeff Blount.
