Yes, I hacked the blog and Tina's
snapfish account (pictures)! Maybe 'hacked' is not the right word considering I have permission to access both. On Saturday, May 10
th, Jeff's team played another great team, the Braves (coached by Woody). Despite feeling only about 50%, Jeff was at the game cheering his kids on. If you would have seen him during the game, you wouldn't have even known he wasn't 100% (the only reason I know is because I asked). Following the game, Drew had his 9
th birthday party (see picture above).
Now, if you notice in this picture- Drew had a bruise on his chin and the reason for this post. I know this is Jeff's Blog, but there are times that I see things that I feel compelled to share with others and this is one of those times. In the game against the Braves, Drew was playing a deep second when Nolan (lefty) got up to bat. Nolan hit the ball hard right at Drew. Drew played the ball perfectly, but it took a bad bounce, came up on him and hit Drew in the chin. Those of us who were standing on the right field fence, heard the noise it made when it hit him. I think it startled him for a second, but despite being hit, Drew still attempted to field the ball. It was one of those moments that I know any parent would be proud of. After being checked out by Tina and the other coaches, Drew stayed on the field. The next batter hit another hard hit directly at 2
nd base. Drew hunkered down, stayed in front of the ball and attempted to make a play. He was amazing on Saturday.
