TUESDAY 8/19/08 'NO NEWS' IS NOT ALWAYS 'GOOD NEWS'

This is more than an hiccup, but the battle wages on. The radiologist may have found some spots of cancer on the skull. As of this morning, this is all that Tina's been told. She is looking for more answers from the doctors today as to how they are going to proceed forward. Jeff's hanging in there. He's strong enough to go to the cafeteria for breakfast today, if allowed, but Tina did say that mentally, he's down. When Jeff's down is when the rest of us need to carry him so keep posting those comments!

Jeff....this is your word of confirmation today:
Joshua 1:9
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
You are strong and courageous! God is holding you up. Your demeanor amazes us, why? Because you are all about Jesus! Keep proclaiming his Word to the weary and those that do not know Him!
DO... NOT... FEAR!

Our thoughts and prayers continue to come your way. I think Michael said it best in what he wrote on the "get well" poster at the benefit -- Coach Blount, you keep fighting and we'll keep praying!

Jeff and Tina,
What the devil means for evil, God can use for good. When you have nothing left in your emotional/mental tank, all you can do is trust HIM. There are no other options. We love you guys and are thinking of you constantly. We will keep praying and asking others to pray. In fact, God just told me as I typed that to pray for you all today with my weight training class at Young Americans. Some of those students know you and I sure have the freedom to pray at that school!! I have chill bumps....we will be praying for you around 2:45today.
We love you,
Kellie

Our family received a prayer request for your family about two months ago which the name sounded so familiar. In the second email (the update)there was a link to this blog. When I viewed the blog site, the name that sound so familiar the face looked familiar too...Coach Blount. I never had coach Blount as a teacher/coach but friends of mine did. I was a student of Conyers Middle/ Rockdale High.

Jeff, you and your beautiful family are in our prayers. And from what I do recall 10+ years ago...every one of your players talked so highly of you. So with that said, we will all lift you and your family high in our prayers. You have touched so many...even ones that never had you as a coach. :) But now I can say that you "have"coached me ... on STRENGTH & Continued FAITH!!! God Bless you and your family!!! May our prayers connect in Heaven!!!!

hey coach and mrs. tina, i know all this stuff about keep fighting on dont quit might be gettin kinda redundant and your patience may be running low, but God is with you, right now. ESPECIALLY when you dont think He is. HE loves you more than we could ever come close to knowing. It says in His word that when 2 or 3 are gathered in Jesus' name, the Holy Spirit will be among them and listen to them. it also says that our one and only real Lord, God Almighty is the God of all COMFORT. prayer is a powerful thing and He hears the crying of our souls even when we're not prayin. Love is even more powerful so know that the God of all comfort, the One who holds the oceans in His palms, is inside you. please check this video out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_e4zgJXPpI4
and dont ever give up coach, its fourth quarter wtih two minutes left and we're down, what would you want us to do? peace coach, and DO NOT FEAR!!!

Jeff and Tina:

Mack and I have been keeping up with your progress through Dean and Holly. You have so many people who are praying for you and your entire family -- it is so amazing and a testimony to how wonderful you and your family must be.
Holly and I came by to see you guys at the hospital a couple of weeks back. We got to visit with Tina a few minutes, but we did not get to see Jeff (he had just received his treatment that day and was very sick), but let me just say that Tina you are a true testimony yourself at how you are handling this. Also, I just watched Jeff's video blog and Holly told me that when Jeff had to leave Whistle Post on Saturday how he hollered out to everyone to have fun - that is awesome!!! People can look at you and see God through you and working in you!!!
It is so wonderful to witness your couragous, constant, unfailing faith in God!!!
I know from the blog that right now is a down time emotionally for all of you and that is to be expected, but know that we are out here lifting you all up in prayer to the Lord -- praying for your strength and healing and praying that God will lay on any of our hearts a way that we can help ease your load (no matter how small a manner that may come).
We will continue to keep in touch through your blog and through Dean and Holly and hope there is some way we can help.

Psalms 34:17-18 "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

Jeff,
Do not give up HOPE,FAITH,and the word of Jesus. He holds the whole world in his hands (as the song goes), so put yourself in his hands and let him take over, trust in him and he will heal you. Don't give up!!! You are not in this battle alone, you have a lot of support I saw that Saturday night at the benefit. DO NOT FEAR,for GOD is with you!!! We are praying for you every day.

WE LOVE Ya'll,
Aunt Kaye, Henry, Adrienne, & Adam

Jeff...I just wanted to let you know that Jerry, Tim, Gary and I are all thinking and praying for you each day. Please continue to fight and keep the spirit of God with you. You know that we have been through a similar battle ourselves. And you were there with a helping hand for my Tim and Gary. So do like you do when you are on the football field, fight, fight, fight.
Love ya all
Aunt Wynette, Jerry, Tim and Gary.
