MONDAY AUGUST 18 PM UPDATE -'I'M A FIXTURE'

Jeff has declared himself to be a fixture on the Cancer Floor at Emory University Hospital. I guess this is as close to incarceration as Jeff will ever get without really being incarcerated. I have a request to those who will likely visit Jeff while he is 'incarcerated'. Please wear your DNF shirt. The doctors and nurses need to know how important it is to all of us that there is no stone unturned and that Jeff is a healthy man come January.

Still, no news or indication that anything has changed. Tina was told by a doctor that sometimes 'no news' is 'good news'. It may not be what we all want to hear, but perhaps, it is true.

Jeff slept in this morning, then managed to get a shower and eat breakfast in the lounging chair. His fatigue and sleepiness are partly due to the medications they have him on, so shortly before lunch, he climbed back into bed and slept soundly for a couple hours this afternoon. Keep posting your comments. Tina has her laptop at the hospital and is reading them to Jeff as she checks them.

Hi Jeff & Tina,

It was great seeing you on Saturday, I'm just sorry you had to "rush" out as you did. I'm glad you were at least able to make it for a short time. I'm keeping tabs on you & praying daily for your recovery. Have my office praying as well. They feel like they know you by now, and ask for daily updates. You take care of yourself, and Tina, you too.

I would also like to say that you have an amazing family. I know you are so very proud of them, as you should be. Matt was so incredible with Drew & Megan Saturday night. He is an incredible young man. And you had a lot to do with that, so know that you did well.

It is so obvious as to how much you mean to them and all of your friends, co-workers & students. It was really very moving to see the support from everyone. You most definitely have made an impact on a lot of lives. You are such an incredible, amazing and truly unique individual. I am honored to know you. You are one of a kind, and a SUPER one at that.

DO NOT FEAR!! I SUPPORT COACH BLOUNT!!!

Take care & see you soon.

Janet
p.s. Drink your water!!! Or else.

Hey Jeff & Tina,
I just want to know that my mom is keeping me updated. She called me on Saturday right after the seizure. We were both very concerned. I can't stop thinking about you guys but I know Jeff is fighter. Not a day goes by for me without thoughts and prayers for you and a speedy recovery. Both of you are such and inspiration to me(always have been just never told you). Your marriage and children have always amazed me and made me smile. Please know that you have my constant support and prayers.

Much Love,
Ashley Olivares

Dear Jeff,

So you're back at Emory? I think you must really like the place, but you just don't want anyone to know. :)

Seriously, I am hoping and praying every day that God heals you very soon. I can only imagine the battle you are waging. I believe in your strength, and I know that if anyone can beat this, you can!

I must admit that reading your blog and seeing pictures has taken me down memory lane...
First, Matt -- holy cow! That sweet little boy who always did his homework in my classroom is a grown man! He is handsome, and it sounds like he is very special too.
Second, Drew -- can you say "Little Jeff"??? He is you all over again! I love it!
And that sweet little girl -- she is a doll. No doubt she has you wrapped around your little finger.

I also remember so much from good ole' Salem High -- team meetings when we laughed more than we planned, students who made us crazy (I won't name any since they might read this, but we'll talk about them later!), and the final exam fiasco with our honors students (how did you get me roped into that?).

I plan to visit next week so get ready to laugh about old times. In the meantime, tell Tina to go to www.dancing-baby.net. I hope he makes you laugh now like you did back then...

Love to all of you!
heather

Blount -

I posted the following to your caring bridge site, and I'm going to be lazy and just paste it over here (yes I'm old and lazy - 42 coming up this Sunday :0) - just so you know I did add a few little tidbits to this one :).

Blount -

The kids and I were at Whistle Post tonight. We just missed you. You had a great turn out of friends and family. It was nice seeing Darlene, Dean and Traci Henry - I'm not sure who showed up after we left.

Jordan will be sporting her t-shirt to Conyers Middle School next week. I'm sure if the walls over there could talk they would burn some ears. I do not know how many times Coach Brown would tell you and I to stop talking in Gym class - eventually splitting us apart.

I'm not the greatest at figuring out a great "sports" theme, but I did find these 2 great Bible verses that I thought you might like.

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.
Deut 31:6

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
II Corinthians 4:16-18
Please call me anytime that you or Tina need to talk. Tina is Jordan's favorite at Dr. Cohen's office to give her shots and Jaxon loves her because she gives him suckers :).

Love and prayers.....

Hey Blounts!!

We did not make it to the Whistle Post Saturday night. But rest assured the whole Norman family plans to buy some shirts - and wear them proudly. The kids are begging me for them already!! You are always in our thoughts and prayers. Haylie especially has been praying for you - she is a definate prayer warrior. I am so proud of Matt and the roll that he is taking on to help ya'll out. The kids need him. I know we haven't been to see you but you are always on our minds - I don't know if we would be in the way especially since I always have the kids with me. Harrison and Hunter are playing football and we pretty much have practice EVERY night. So even though we don't get to see you physically - know that you are ALWAYS with us. We love you!!

Hey there! I had just missed you two when I arrived at the tavern. I'm so sorry for what you are going through. Logan wore his "support" tee today at school and he was very proud to wear it. Your children are a wonderful example of just how united your family is. It was also great to see your sister Tracy! You both are amazing and please hang in there! Remember.... God has a plan! He does not give you more than you can handle and even though that may not seem likely at the moment; He is there for you. My prayers are with you all always.

Man, do you like attention or what?!?!? LOL!!!! We can't wait to buy our shirts and show them off. We love you and are still thinking about you and praying everyday for you. Keep the Faith. Rest and get well soon. Prospect needs its Georgia supporter this year with such a crazy schedule. Hope to see you soon.

Jeffrey Scott,

I am thinking of you constantly and I want you to know how proud I am to be your sister. You are an amazing person who has impacted the lives of all those you have met. Saturday night was just one more example of this through the showing of family, friends, coworkers, former and present students, and many others.

A comment was made by one of your former students that evening as he entered the crowd; "wow, I wish I was loved this much!" This statement is all encompassing of you, Jeff.

Jeff, your personality draws others to you and once there everyone becomes a part of your family; what an outstanding quality to possess. You are definitely my hero!

Hang in there big brother. Remember what I told you, "this is happening to you because NO ONE else could handle it."

I love you and treasure you each day. Only a few more days til UGA opener so beeeee strrrrooonnnggg!!!!!!

Always,
your baby sissa

Hey Friend, Sorry I missed you on Saturday. You know I would have a good reason to miss Coach Blount, a live band and cb's! We went to Daytona on Thursday for deep sea fishing on Friday. You didn't miss anything unless you like Barracuda. We could get a fish in the boat without it being bit in half. Ricky, Dean and myself are going to come see you in the next day or two. If you need us to bring anything, just let me know. Hang in there and I hope you feel better soon. See you shortly. Kent
